To celebrate Debate Mate Online's 2 year anniversary, we take a look back at some of Debate Mate's greatest achievements since Debate Mate Schools was founded in 2008.
1) 1.8 million hours of training delivered!π
Debate Mate recruits and trains the brightest and best university students to train young people in schools and online. These university students act as peer-peer mentors for our clubs, inspiring students and developing their confident communication skills.
2) 110,000 young people trained!πββοΈπ§βπ»
Debate Mate develops key 21st century employability skills in young people through debate-led methodology. Since 2008, it has offered this training in-person through it's charitable arm, Debate Mate Schools, as well as virtually through Debate Mate Online since 2020. Our programmes are designed to develop empathy, confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership skills to equip young people to thrive in the future!
3) 15,000 company and brand collaborations!π€
Debate Mate frequently partners with a number of major companies and brands including Goldman Sachs, BP, the Economist and Deloitte! We've also worked with individuals and organisations like Bill Gates, Usain Bolt, Comic Relief and 10 Downing Street.
4) 12,000 adult professionals trained!π£
Debate Mate Limited is a branch of Debate Mate that offers communication training to business professionals at all stages of their career. Notable clients include: McKinsey & Co, Deloitte, Tesco, Standard Chartered (NYC), Slaughter and May & Premier League!

Debate Mate Online prides itself on its international nature, uniting students and mentors from all around the world. This has the effect of expanding students' world-view, exposing them to new cultures and developing their empathy and communication skills. Since 2012, Debate Mate Schools has also run international summer programmes in Rwanda, Nepal, Jamaica, Mexico, Zambia and Kenya!
